Homemade flour Tortillas!

How to prepare it:
  • Combine flour, baking powder and the salt in large bowl. Stir them
  • Add spoonfuls of lard/shortening (use 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons), then combine the ingredients. Divide the mixture to coarse crumbs.
  • Slowly pour in hot water, stirring to bring mixture together. Lightly knead dough until it becomes a it becomes a cohesive ball of dough and is less sticky. Cover with a towel and allow it to rest for at least an hour.
  • Roll into ping pong size balls, place on a tray, cover them with a towel and let them rest for another 20-30 minutes.
  • Use a dark or cast iron griddle and set it to medium/medium-high heat. Then one by one toll out balls of dough to thin layers. Trow tortillas onto the griddle and cook them until they are slightly bown in spots but still soft.
  • Serve them warm.
